Going to work with mom Mom would take me to work, I believe at a school for those with disabilities. While she was working I would sit with one of the students and they'd set me up with a typewriter. I adored that boy.
Mom's bookcase Mom always have a bookcase full of books - mostly they were novels, and beyond me. But her Pediatric Nursing textbook was so fascinating! I would look at pictures of syndromes and diseases. I feel like reading this at young age made me feel comfortable with my own body, especially since I was healthy! Pediatric Nursing Textbook by Dorothy Marlow
Mom made me a Cabbage Patch Doll During the height of the Cabbage Patch craze when I was still tiny, mom made me a home-made cabbage patch doll, and also a doll made from pantyhose. I loved my home-made dolls!
Rabbit and Skunk and Spooks Mom would read me this book a lot as a kid. I bought a copy in college. The book itself was just okay, apparently the magic was in how she read it. :) Cover, Inside
Early Japan Craziness In the first few months we lived in Japan, I remember both chick pox and diarrhea. I remember thinking even as a kid that this was absolute fucking madness. But mom was there just taking care of us instead of running screaming into the night away from the pus and shit.

The Great USA/Japan Foreign Incident Mom told me and Kevin a story of how our absoulute gasiness lead to an international incident between Japan and the USA. Said story had us dying with laughter. After requesting info on the incident, our FOIA request was denied.
Winning me a day as a Brewers Batgirl Mom entered this contest for me as a kid - I don't think I quite understood the experience at the time but it was fun! Pic
Mom and sci-fi Mom always read and watched sci fi. So growing up, there were always sci fi book and movies around. Often times we'd watch sci fi movies when other families might watch a Christmas movie. It gave me a fear of the Baron, but mother prepared me for the Golden Path!!!! You are my Jessica

Never hurts to try it on... Mom always encouraged me to try on clothes, even ones I wasn't sure about. "I won't hurt to try it on". I don't always follow that philosophy with trying on clothes (not fun!) but I try to follow it with the rest of my life. Trying something new never hurts. I try the food I don't like in case things change. I try whatever new hobby comes my way - if it sticks, great! But if it doesn't, then at least I have a new skill.

Sick without mom for the first time I got bronchitis several times living in Maine. Each time, at the height of my sickness, I'd be standing in the pharmacy and say to myself: "I want my mom". Actual found footage
